Programme MBA Facility Management

The International Executive MBA FM contains all basic elements of the general executive MBA divided into five modules: Strategic Management, Operational Management, Financial Management, and Human Resource Management and a module on Real Estate and FM.

The study programme is unique in teaching and practical approach, seeking to transcend national borders and ways of thinking worldwide. The study programme is in line with the academic and professional requirements on leadership (general management) and teaches general management philosophies and techniques for the purpose of warding a MBA degree. Furthermore, specific contents to train the graduates for FM have been added to the general view of business administration;

The programme includes three dimensions:

1. The general management and business administration knowledge of a classic MBA programme, which focuses on the interdependencies of functional areas of a company.
2. Specifications to master situations and challenges in the FM field.
3. An international comparison to give participants experience and the opportunity to learn various management approaches in FM.

In the MBA FM these general topics are studied from the perspective of the Facility Manager. This body of knowledge is transferred to the organisations from which the executives participate in the programme.

The programme is designed as such that the five modules will lead to the so-called graduation phase. Each module discusses facility themes from a MBA perspective. During each module, all participants will gather four times per module, for two days. Participants are expected to hand in a report and give a presentation at the end of each module in order to pass the module.  A module can be undertaken independently. This creates the possibility of ‘spreading the programme over a longer period of time’.

The modules start in February and September and each module equals 12 ECTS*. During the graduation phase, a research project must be done upon which a Thesis must be written. This research and the writing of the Thesis are supported by a professor. This last phase of the Ececutive MBA FM equals  20 ECTS*.
